Building up Chinese Primary Teachers’ Key Competences through a Global Competence-based Framework

Face-to-Face training at Beijing Normal University

The second part of the training for Chinese University teachers is the face-to-face training. This second part is managed and delivered by Nottingham Trent University partners. Three of them travelled to the Chinese partner universities. The face-to-face training lasts three days and has a twofold aim: first, to design teaching plans that are adjusted to the competence-based approach. Second, to design, develop and assess tasks from a competence-based approach. Note that the activities carried out during the face-to-face training intend not only to explain what the competence-based approach is, but, above all, it intends to make trainees experience how this approach is applied in reality.

30 trainees participated in the face-to-face training held at Beijing Normal University during the 10th and 13th of July. These participants will later apply the competence-based approach with pre- and in-service teachers. TKCOM members are grateful for the work and effort made by the participants, but, especially, by NTU and BNU partners.
